New Delhi, April 17, 2021 (PTI) The Indian government has decided to issue visas to Pakistani players for this year's scheduled T20 World Cup. According to the Hindustan Times, Cricket Board (BCCI) Secretary J Shah briefed the High Council. Following the decision of the Indian government, the Pakistan cricket team led by Babar Azam was sent to India to participate in the ICCT20 World Cup in October. There will be no difficulty in traveling.
A member of the High Council, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Indian media that the issue of issuing visas to Pakistan cricket team has been resolved, but it is not yet clear whether visas will be issued to Pakistani cricket fans. Will or will not "The secretary announced at the meeting that a decision would be taken later, but we promised the ICC that the matter would be resolved," he said.
On the other hand, the Indian Cricket Board has decided on nine venues for the World T20, with the final of the event to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Other places include Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani wrote a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) last month expressing concern over the visa issue.
The letter said that if the Indian Cricket Board does not provide visa facility and written assurance to the Pakistani team, media and spectators, the tournament should be shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Due to this, no bilateral series has been played between Pakistan and India for many years.
