The Modi government has introduced new digital rules under which WhatsApp will have to tell the government from which mobile the first message was sent.
WhatsApp has taken a stand in a case filed against the Modi government in the Delhi High Court, alleging that the new rules violate the protection of users' private conversations and are unconstitutional.
WhatsApp said that this chat tracking law is tantamount to marking every WhatsApp message, which will result in N2 and encryption becoming useless and violating the right to privacy.
