 After two days in Turkey, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi left for New York on Wednesday to draw the international community's attention to Israeli atrocities in Palestine.



    He is accompanied by the foreign ministers of Turkey, Palestine and Sudan, according to a Foreign Office statement.


    Qureshi will attend an emergency meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on May 20 (tomorrow) in which he will represent Pakistan's position on the Palestinian issue and "he will raise his voice for this purpose." Earlier, Qureshi met with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riaz al-Maliki, in which he condemned "Israeli aggression, attacks on Al-Aqsa and forced evictions of Palestinians." The Foreign Minister will also meet with UNGA President Vulcan Bozkir and other dignitaries. The FO said he would also meet with media representatives and brief them on Pakistan's position on local and international issues.
