Los Angeles: A truck full of fireworks exploded in the United States, injuring 17 people.
According to the international news agency, a truck full of fireworks exploded in the US state of Los Angeles, as a result of which 17 people were injured and several vehicles were destroyed.
The blast also severely damaged nearby buildings and shattered the windows of several shopping malls.
The condition of many of the 17 people is critical, according to the news agency.
A preliminary police report said the fireworks were being transported to safety when the accident occurred.
LAPD chief Michelle Moore said three box trucks and a 53-foot trailer were brought in to load the fireworks and move them to safety, according to the news agency.
